Independence

     June 12, 1898 was the declaration of the Philippine Independence Day. It is truly one of the most memorable day in the Philippine history. But why do we, Filipinos celebrate the independence day every June 12 in the calendar? What do people do? Who paid the price in order for the Philippines achieve its freedom?

     Our heroes paid the price namely: Bonifacio, Aguinaldo, Mabini, Luna and our national hero Rizal and many more. They paid the price with their lives by fighting them not just using weapons but also words. Because of them, every student, worker and everyone on Philippines have their day-off on the day of June 12. But most of us are only waiting for this day because it is a holiday but what we should do is to honor them for their bravery and courage. We should celebrate independence day in honor of our heroes because they did most of us can't do, sacrifice our lives for others and for our country.

     For me, as a student, we need to celebrate independence day the right way. We should give honor and remember our heroes for the valor and bravery they showed in facing our suppressors. I am very thankful to our heroes because they were ready to die for the sake of others, I really admire their selfless love to our country. I am thankful to them, because they fought in order for the Philippines to reach its liberty
